The multi-award-winning comedian Rhod Gilbert is bouncing back with a brand-new live show. Recognised as one of the finest stand-ups of a generation, Rhod’s last tour ‘The Book of John’, kicked off in 2019 and ran until 2023 with extra dates added due to overwhelming demand, covid delays, and further postponements due to Rhod’s cancer diagnosis. 

Previously, Rhod was dealing with some pretty pungent life citrus, and an idiot called John. Little did he know that things were about to turn even more sour. But Rhod’s not bitter; he’s bouncing back and feeling remarkably zesty. Hilariously dark, passionate and way too personal, this is classic Gilbert, squeezing every last drop out of life’s latest curveballs, with a little help from an old adversary.

Disabled Access

The City Hall has 6 seating areas available for every show for wheelchair users.  It is necessary for wheelchair seating to be booked in advance.  Please contact the box office on 0191 2612606.

Any customer booking a wheelchair seat will receive comprehensive information on access to the City Hall and it's facilities when booking.  Access to the box office is via College Street and is fully accessible.  There is no access to the Concert Bar and refreshment area for wheelchair users.  Where customers are unable to access these areas due to ambulatory difficulties, a drinks service is provided by the City Hall.  Members of staff are available and can take drink orders and arrange for then to be brought to the foyer/auditorium, on request.  There is no lift access to the balcony.  Accessible toilet available in the foyer.
