  • There will be full festival markets dotted all over the site providing all kinds of things that you will need to survive the three or four days you intend to stay with us. Market stalls include clothes, jewellery, massages, piercing & tattoos, organic foods, souvenirs, merchandise, chairs, and loads of other stuff. If you want to run a market or food stall at Download, please email festival.retail@livenation.co.uk spacer

  • Once on site it is important to plan your day. Obviously the priority is making sure you get to see the acts that mean the most to you – come back to the festival website a few days before the show and all band times will be listed so you can plan in advance. Don’t forget some other basics though – If you are with friends & are camping together or travelling home together - arrange a place & time to meet up at the end of the night. Large crowds, a long day & hot weather in combination will tire you out. Make sure you pace yourself, drink plenty of water, eat some food that will give you some energy & minimize sun exposure. spacer

  • We have very welcoming neighbours at Donington, amongst some beautiful farmland; however, we are in the countryside, be careful and keep noise to a minimum when leaving the festival area. We want to come back next year, so anyone found on private property, pitching their tent or making what seems like a crafty shortcut, will be dealt with by the authorities and you won't get any sympathy from us! Use our campsite and our car parks that way, you won't have your car impounded or tent removed!

  • It takes us a whole week to clear the Donington of all the litter left. Litter bins and skips will be provided for your use around the site, try and make your weekend environment better and use them!

  • Lost property counters are located in the main arena and campsite, along with other welfare services. If you should lose or find any articles during the event, the staff here will be able to help. After the event, please contact Loughborough Police Station - 01162 222222 - to see whether your belongings have turned up or been handed in.

  • If you do drink, don't do drunk! Excessive drinking is bad for your health and your memory - surely you want to remember Download for the right reasons. Pace yourself, and have a great weekend. IF YOU DRINK, DON'T DRIVE. DON'T RISK IT. There will be large police presence at Download Festival don't risk ruining everything. If you want to drink, take the shuttle bus or camp over the whole weekend, and remember don't drive until you're in the clear.

  • Drugs, hard or soft, are no more legal at festivals than they are anywhere else the same penalties and risks apply. Festivals and large crowds can be disorientating experiences this is definitely not the place to start experimenting. And remember, there are film crews, security staff and police throughout the site and surrounding area its not exactly secluded! After all this however, don't be afraid to tell medical staff or stewards if something is going wrong. - There will also be team of Drug and Alcohol Advice workers on site to provide specialist advice on substance misuse and harm reduction to anyone who requires support during the event.

  • The police and the Leicestershire Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) are using cutting edge technology to get crime prevention and sensible drinking messages through to people at this year’s Download music festival. Workers from the Drug Intervention Programme will be walking around Donington Park using four portable Bluetooth boxes, each with the capability of sending quick-fire messages to mobile phones within a 25m radius. They will be working in a shift pattern from 10am until 2am on each day of the festival. People with Bluetooth enabled mobiles will receive a note asking them if they want to receive a message. If they accept, they will be sent the animated message, which will contain information on a range of topics, including crime prevention and advice on alcohol and drug use. As the messages are sent using Bluetooth technology and not SMS, they will cost nothing for phone uses to receive. Nick Jones, an Alcohol Strategy Officer with Leicestershire Drug and Alcohol Action Team, said; "All partners involved believe the use of Bluetooth technology is a really exciting opportunity to get key personal safety, as well as drug and alcohol harm reduction messages, to the revellers throughout the duration of the festival. The messages will be quirky; they will raise a laugh in the spirit of the festival, but will also contain some useful tips to ensure that festival goers have a perfect Download." There will also be team of Drug and Alcohol Advice workers on site to provide specialist advice on substance misuse and harm reduction to anyone who requires support during the event. spacer

  • Security will have discretionary powers to restrict crowd numbers plus people who are too small or young, intoxicated, aggressive or possibly drug affected, incapacitated, in a wheelchair or on crutches. Crowd surfing and moshing are dangerous to yourself and others and may result in eviction without a refund, so don’t do it. Please consider others as well as your own safety, especially in front of stages. If someone falls down or is in distress please help them if you can or let the Stewards or Medical team know so we can help. It's meant to be a fun day, let's make sure it is.

  • The police in Leicestershire want visitors to this year’s Download Music Festival to have a safe, happy and crime free time. Following its success last year, the police have re launched their text messaging and email service aimed at gathering information before, during and after the event. If you have any information that might help prevent crime during the Festival then please use the text or email service. You can text ‘police’ followed by your message to 86688 or email downloadfestival.intel@leicestershire.pnn.police.uk Steps to a safe and happy Download • Use the on-site lockers for your personal belongings; don’t leave anything in your tent when you are not in it. Only bring what you need and keep it on you at all times. • Postcode the property you do bring to Download so that it is identifiable. • If you arrive by car, don’t leave anything on display in your vehicle including sat navs, car stereos, CDs or mobile phones. Don’t put items in your glove box or the boot, this is the first place a thief will look. Take everything with you or leave it at home. Security staff and police officers will be patrolling both the camp sites and the car parks and each campsite will have a ‘hub’ with a ‘hub’ manager where people can go to report problems. The mobile police station will be on the site which will be used as a reporting centre if anyone needs to report a crime. Community volunteers will also be working on the site giving out crime prevention leaflets and post coding your property if visitors have forgotten to do it before they arrive. spacer

  • All disabled customers are welcome at Download, but as it is a greenfield site there are steep stony hilly sections of the site, meaning that sometimes access is not that easy. Stewards however, will be around to assist. If arriving by public transport you should go to the main entrance and make yourselves known to security personnel where you will be directed to the accessible viewing platform. If arriving by car, follow the signs or to the disabled car parking area or ask a steward to direct you.

  • Live Nation manage all disabled customer ticket sales in-house. We have a Disabled Customers hotline number that patrons can call to book tickets - It is 020 7195 2133. N.B. Should additional helper tickets be required, please call the disabled access ticket line on 020 7195 2133 or email access@downloadfestival.co.uk

  • There will be a disabled customer parking area located next to the campsite and arena entrance. This facility is free and cars must display an official disability badge where appropriate. You can also park your car next to your tent should you be camping but space is limited so this will be only available to customers who need to do so.

  • Viewing platforms are located at every stage, though access is restricted to the disabled customer plus one carer due to space restrictions. Non-disabled customers may be asked to leave the platform when it is busy to avoid overcrowding and we ask all customers to be considerate of others needs. spacer

  • There are accessible toilets located in most toilet blocks on the site, and specifically by the disabled viewing platforms at every stage. When the site layout is confirmed, we shall post the exact locations of all disabled toilets here.

  • Camping facilities and toilets are provided for disabled customers. Please ensure you purchase a disabled access camping ticket. Please contact us at access@downloadfestival.co.uk if you wish to camp with your friends, though I’m afraid we must limit this to 4 friends per disabled customer due to restrictions on space. Motorhomes may also be taken in to the disabled campsite at no extra charge. Can all disabled persons that are camping please bring with them a copy of your blue badge or DLA form. This is for your own safety so we have no unwanted guests into your camping area.

Donate a few pence to negate the carbon emitted by travelling to the festival and we’ll invest it all into environmental projects at local schools. Climate change is a pressing global issue. Nevertheless, there are things that we can all do. We are committed to encouraging and providing more sustainable transport options to Download Festival where possible, and would also like to offer customers the opportunity to negate their unavoidable carbon emissions associated with travelling to this event by investing in environmental projects in schools around Donnington Park. If you would like to participate in this scheme, there is an option to add 50p to your order on the shipping page. Schools in the local area will be coming up with their projects for the funds, these will then be detailed on www.downloadfestival.co.uk and we’ll choose one to support.
