Carling Academy Liverpool

Doors: 7:00 pm

11-13 Hotham Street

Liverpool, L3 5UF

Enter Shikari is a hardcore/progressive rock band with an experimental twist. They are also four 18 year old lads from St Albans, who have known each other and played music together since Junior School. Created in 2003, the band emerged from the ashes of Hybryd, and combined each individual's experiences and influences to create a new sound. The band combines elements of electronica, hardcore and pop and their sound is particularly characterised by the synthesised melodies included in many of their songs. Their music is passionate and is mixed with hardcore rock to provide extreme energy and emotion. Their stage presence is equally as dynamic as their music. Fresh from performing at Download Festival 2006, they embark on a headline tour of the UK.

Carling Academy Liverpool

CARLING ACADEMY AND CARLING ACADEMY 2 LIVERPOOL

'It was fantastic to see a band of Killing Joke's calibre return to Liverpool and all credit to the Carling Academy for putting the City back on the touring map.' - Daily Post

The 1,200 capacity Carling Academy Liverpool has already established itself as a major player on the UK touring circuit, attracting the same high profile, internationally acclaimed artists already performing at Academy Music Group venues. From rock legends, indie all-stars, cutting edge dance and urban acts, to showcasing the rising talent of the future in the 500 capacity Carling Academy 2 Liverpool, the venue is perfectly positioned to fulfill AMG's high ambitions. The storming launch night party with local heroes Shack (Thursday 18th September 2003) triggered a taste of things to come and a spectacular diary of events. Since then the venue has wowed audiences with outstanding artists including Maximo Park, Gomez, The Kooks, Happy Mondays, Dirty Pretty Things, Babyshambles, Hard Fi, Arcade Fire , Belle and Sebastian and Corrine Bailey Rae.

Carling Academy Liverpool is well aware of the responsibilities of the music establishment to support and nurture new underground music talent. In Carling Academy 2, events such as Project 47 give local bands inspired by Liverpool's fantastically vibrant music scene the chance to showcase their music in a beautifully equipped 500 capacity space. Music fans lucky enough to get up and close and personal in this venue have been thrilled by the likes of The Sunshine Underground, The Wombats, Gossip, Enter Shikari, Broken Social Scene, Plan B and Little Man Tate.

To further enhance the local nightlife, Carling Academy Liverpool hosts regular club nights to satiate all musical tastes and preferences from Bugged Out, who celebrated their anniversary with 2manydj's and a host of great DJ stars and legendary techno night VOODOO is also back at the Academy for specialist events. Since April 1993, VOODOO has been one of the country's biggest nights for high quality techno, house and electronic parties that regularly feature the biggest names on the circuit from Dave Clarke to Jeff Mills. Every Monday is home to the biggest student party in the North West, attracting over 1,000 students every week to its 'Academy' club night.

In December 2006, Deltasonic Records held their Christmas party at the venue in aid of Alder Hey Children's Hospital featuring an amazing line-up of The Coral, The Dead 60's and Little Flames, not to mention a special live appearance from band of the moment, Arctic Monkeys.

Formerly the Lomax site, this 19th century warehouse building at 11-13 Hotham Street, is steeped in musical history. Production complete with top class facilities for both club events and live music, AMG has made the greatest efforts to ensure that its venue is a favourite with artists and audiences alike.

On top of all this, Carling Academy Liverpool features accessible bars, merchandising, catering, excellent security, disabled access, helpful staff, plentiful washroom facilities and excellent travel connections.

AMG has given careful consideration to the logistical and operational requirements of its clients, which is reflected in the venue's excellent backstage and production facilities. Carling Academy Liverpool also caters for VIP's with areas available for private hire or corporate functions and is the perfect location for TV production. AMG has the backing, expertise and partnerships to make Carling Academy Liverpool the best live music and club venue in the region with the most exciting diary of events and is already off to a cracking start.
