The Woodentops influenced the early Ibiza scene in the heady 1980s, where their tunes were dance floor sensations. These same Woodentops tracks also inspired the key English acid house/Balaeric clubs Shoom and Spectrum. You can see their eclecticism in many bands today, such as Vampire Weekend, or in any of the many young bands of the moment that mix guitar and electronics into the melting pot.

Their live shows were always frenetic celebratory affairs. And now they are back. In October 2009 they played a super-stellar comeback show in London’s prestigious Queen Elizabeth Hall. They brought visuals from original ‘Giant’ LP artist Panni and a set that mixed all the old classics with a stunning new canon of material fresh for the 21^st century.
