Assembled in London, meeting through mutual friends exlovers have wasted no time since forming in early 2008. Their early sound was a quiet, folkish affair, the band quickly drew upon their early 90's American and UK indie influences (The Cure / Teenage Fanclub / My Bloody Valentine / Elliot Smith), collectively writing to combine sweetly sombre lyrical musings with lo-fi guitars, ever-developing boy-girl harmonies and subtle instrumental discord to stunning effect.

After completing several UK tours with the likes of Pete Doherty, Golden Silvers and Pete and the Pirates, producer Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths) offered his services. Since then they haveproved mainstays at XFM, Radio 1 and 6Music.
