Having officially retired from recording & touring in 2009, Thunder were lured back to the live stage for what turned out to be a hugely successful festival appearance in the summer of 2011. The band enjoyed it so much that a Christmas show was announced, which sold out in less than 12 hours. Another one was quickly added, and that sold out too. They were incredible shows, with Rock City in Nottingham packed to the gills both nights, so the band have decided to do it again in 2012, only this time the venue is bigger.

Thunder will play their Christmas show at Manchester Academy on December 21st and 22nd. The show will stick to the now legendary Thunder Christmas show format, with 2 sets (acoustic then full on electric), with a mix of Thunder songs & killer covers, special guests, inflatables & general festive mayhem. As in the past the show will be recorded and a live CD will be produced of the show highlights, and as it's included in the ticket price, a copy of the CD will be sent to every ticket buyer as soon as it's finished (please note: 1 ticket = 1 CD, so if you buy 4 tickets you will receive 4 CDs).

Danny Bowes, Thunder’s lead singer says:
‘It was so good last year that we’ve decided to make the Thunder Christmas show an annual event again, like it was in the past, but rather than keep to the same place, going forward we’re thinking about moving it to a different city & venue each year. That way more fans will hopefully get it on their doorstep, instead of having to travel long distances. We’re all chuffed to be doing it and I’m chomping at the bit, December really can’t get here quickly enough’.
